About Laser Skin Resurfacing
Many people have blotchy, acne-scarred, and sun-damaged skin in need of rejuvenation. Good news: laser skin resurfacing removes damaged cells at the surface layer by layer, allowing healthy cells to come up from underneath and form a tighter, healthier-looking complexion. Afterwards, patients have reduced signs of aging, fewer wrinkles, less hyperpigmentation and blotchiness, and reduced scarring.
Laser resurfacing treatment works by making the skin rejuvenate itself by activating its self-healing mechanisms to increase collagen and elasticity. Winter Park Plastic Surgery patients typically receive treatment around common problem areas, such as the mouth, eyes, and forehead. They can also get laser resurfacing for the entire face.
The treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes for small problem areas around the eyes, nose, mouth, and chin and around two hours for the whole face.
Please note that swelling after laser skin resurfacing is perfectly normal. If you have excess swelling around your eyes that causes discomfort, we can prescribe steroid ointments to bring the inflammation under control. Patients typically experience itching and stinging for between twelve and seventy-two hours. You may also notice that your skin becomes dry and starts to peel.
Full healing takes between ten and twenty-one days. After this time period, you will be able to see full results as well.
Cost of Laser Skin Resurfacing
The cost of laser skin resurfacing depends primarily on the location you want to treat, the size of the area, and the difficulty of the treatment. In general, the deeper the peel and the larger the target skin area, the higher the price.
The cost of laser skin resurfacing largely depends primarily on your skin condition and the number of treatments you require. Dr. Greenberg and his team will consult with you before the procedure about your goals and what you can expect from your treatment plan. They will talk to you about the results you can expect to see and the effects the treatment has had on similar patients at Winter Park Plastic Surgery. In the weeks and months following laser skin resurfacing, you can expect a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, and excessive pigmentation.
Am I a Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Patients with wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun-damaged skin can benefit substantially from laser skin resurfacing at Winter Park Plastic Surgery. If issues with your complexion are moderate, you may only require a light peel. If they are more severe, deeper treatment may be necessary.
