If you have frown lines, crow’s feet, and other facial aging symptoms, you may be a good candidate for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injections. Each of these anti-aging injections is designed to smooth away wrinkles and lines caused by consistent facial movements (like brow furrowing or frowning).
BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport and Xeomin are FDA-approved bacteria produced proteins purified for medical use that block nerve impulse transmission to muscles preventing them from contracting. They are used to treat hyperfunctioning, hyper-dynamic frown lines, allowing the overlying skin to be smoothed with an improved cosmetic appearance. As a group, these products are called neuromodulators.
Am I a Good Candidate for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin?
You’re a good candidate for any of these anti-aging injections if you have mild-to-moderate forehead wrinkles and fine lines. Brows can be shaped and lifted, neck bands and lines can be softened and other hyperfunctioning facial muscles can also be treated.
You should be in good health and have realistic expectations for this treatment.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
These treatments are done in the office. No anesthesia is required for treatment with BOTOX, Dysport or Xeomin. Most treatments take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to perform.
What Results Will I See?*
Results of facial muscle treatment last for about 3 months, while results from the injections for excessive sweating can last 6-12 months. Injections need to be repeated to maintain the results.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with these injections, although your skin may feel slightly tender and swollen at the injection site.
