You might be wondering, am I a candidate for a breast lift? You’ll be pleased to know that women that are non-smokers, are in good physical health and have realistic expectations for the procedure are the most suitable candidates for breast lift surgery.

To ensure that it is a suitable procedure for you, it is a good idea to schedule a consultation at the Winter Park Plastic Surgery and Laser Center.

Breast Lift Recovery 

Before you go into breast lift surgery, it is important to know what the recovery is like for it. And while this can vary person-to-person, recovery for breast lift surgery typically takes up to 6 weeks.

Over this time, your breasts will heal and any bruising and swelling will fade over time. Throughout the next few months following the surgery, the color of the incisions will also improve, making your repositioned breasts look very natural. 

After the surgery, your surgeon will recommend that you wear a light dressing to promote healing, along with a supportive surgical bra for one week. During this week it is advised that you avoid any strenuous activity – such as exercise or lifting heavy objects. Even though this may be possible 3 weeks after, activity level will depend on the individual treatment plan laid out by your surgeon.

Your surgeon will also advise you as to when it is safe to return to work (which is typically one week after the procedure), how to care for your healing scars and how to bathe to prevent infection. To help with any pain caused by the surgery, your plastic surgeon may also prescribe you medication, or suggest over the counter pain management options.
