The nose is one of the most prominent facial features. So if you have always been self-conscious about it, then it could be time to find a solution.
If you’re unhappy with the size, shape, or overall functionality of your nose, rhinoplasty could be the procedure you’ve been looking for.
One of the most popular procedures around the world for men and women, rhinoplasty will help you to achieve your desired results and ensure that your nose is more symmetrical with your other features.
Commonly known as a nose job, this procedure is designed to reshape the nose. However, rhinoplasty isn’t just recommended as a way of improving the appearance of your nose; it can also be done as a way of relieving any obstructions within the nasal airway.
To ensure that your rhinoplasty procedure aligns with your desired results and goals, Dr. Scott A. Greenberg, a Board-Certified plastic surgeon at Winter Park Plastic Surgery and Laser Center will evaluate the structure and appearance of your nose along with any factors that could influence the procedure during your initial consultation.
The procedure itself is performed in our in-office accredited surgical facility and will typically take between 1-3 hours. Whether a closed or open approach is taken will depend on your specific goals for the surgery.
Once the surgery is complete, you can expect a splint and bandages to be placed around the nose to help promote optimal healing.
Although every person’s rhinoplasty recovery process is unique, swelling and bruising on the nose and around the eyes will typically subside within 2-3 weeks following the surgery. After one week, the bandages and splint will be removed by your plastic surgeon.
To ensure that you’re following the correct practices, your plastic surgeon will also give you specific instructions. These will include how long it will be until you can resume normal activities when it is recommended for you to return to work, which medications you can take and when you should book a follow-up appointment.
There are so many benefits that come with a rhinoplasty procedure at Winter Park Plastic Surgery. Not only will it drastically enhance the appearance of your nose, but it can resolve numerous medical issues such as:
- A deviated septum
- Sleep apnea
- Chronic sinus infections
- Limited breathing ability due to an injury
- Damaged nerves within the nasal cavity
