1. Your breast lift recovery may take up to six weeks.
The majority of your breast lift recovery will take place over the course of four to six weeks. This is when a lot of your healing occurs, so expect to see most of your swelling and bruising go away. The look of your incisions should also improve, although it may take a few more months until they’re no longer red or pink.
2. You’ll be back to work sooner than that!
Don’t worry, you won’t have to take the full six weeks off from work; most patients are able to go back to their jobs about one week after surgery. We do advise that you wait for the green light from your plastic surgeon before heading back into the office.
Additionally, if you work a job where you’re lifting objects or bending over a lot, we usually advise you to wait two weeks before resuming your work.
Like with most cosmetic surgeries, the first week of recovery is usually the most uncomfortable. You may be in some pain, which is why your plastic surgeon may prescribe you with a few days’ worths of pain medications. You may also have some trouble sleeping, so we recommend using a pillow for support to avoid exacerbating chest pain.
4. Full sensation may not return for another month.
It’s not uncommon for patients to not have total nipple sensation for the first few months after breast lift surgery. However, in most cases, total sensation comes back within six months.
“A friend of mine recommended me to Dr Greenburg’s office after her breast aug. I had been wanting to get one for a long time and really liked her outcome, I decided to have a consult. From the get go I was impressed by this office, Dr Greenburg had a superior consult and evaluation over previous doctors. He took the time to explain all the options and gladly answered all my questions. The whole process was smooth, he made me confident about the procedure. The surgery went great, and I am extremely happy with the results even after only 6 weeks! He made my breasts look full and natural, exactly what I asked for. I should also mention the PA Jessie is amazing as well. She is very knowledgable, professional and gentle. Arlene at the front is super friendly as well as the assistant Liz! If are searching for a great plastic surgeon office, look no further!” *
