Factors such as genetics and pregnancy play a significant role in the volume and shape of your breasts. If you are dissatisfied with the current size of your breasts or struggle with sagging and loss of volume after pregnancy, breast augmentation may be right for you.

How Does Breast Augmentation Work?

Before breast augmentation, Dr. Greenberg will have a consultation with you to provide his expert assistance in guiding you with choosing the right implant. The right implant for your treatment, placement, and more will depend on your goals.

Practitioners will typically perform breast augmentation under general anesthesia. During your treatment, Dr. Greenberg will perform your customized augmentation. Incisions are placed underneath the natural curve of the breasts to ensure they are well hidden. The procedure typically takes around an hour, after which you will be able to rest in our recovery area until you are able to return home.

How to Sleep After Breast Augmentation Surgery

After your breast augmentation, you should have someone drive you home and stay with you for at least the first 24 hours of your recovery. Sleep will be essential to your recovery, though we understand you may find getting a good night’s rest difficult or uncomfortable for a little while after your procedure.

To minimize swelling and improve circulation, you should sleep on your back while elevated by a pillow. Your post-surgical bra will keep your breasts from moving, which can allow you to rest much more comfortably.

It can take four to six weeks to heal after a breast augmentation fully. You should avoid strenuous physical activity and lifting heavy objects during this time to ensure optimal recovery.

Will My Breast Augmentation Scars be Noticeable?

Dr. Greenberg takes extra care in ensuring your scars are well hidden and even coverable by a bra or bikini top. Your scars will be most visible after breast augmentation surgery and during the healing process but typically fade to a light pink or white color after 18 months.

Am I a Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

If you are dissatisfied with the current volume of your breasts, have uneven breasts, or wish to correct sagging breasts, you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation. Candidates should be in good health as well as non-smokers. Individuals who are pregnant or nursing are not candidates for breast augmentation.
