4 Ways to Prepare for Breast Augmentation Surgery and Recovery

1. Arrange your rides.

Do you know who’s driving you to and from your breast augmentation surgery?

If not, or you think you can just Uber it home, you might want to reconsider. Find someone who can pick you up from your plastic surgery center and get you into bed on that first day, as the effects of general anesthesia and pain medication will prevent you from driving your own car or easily moving around on your own.

2. Schedule out your home care.

Whether you live by yourself or with roommates or family, it’s important to schedule out your home care, especially in those first few days after breast augmentation surgery. This will be the time when you’re the most groggy and limited in movement, so it’s vital to get friends and family members to stop in and check up on you while you’re recovering.

3. Invest in comfortable pillows.

Right after your breast augmentation surgery, you won’t be able to sleep on your sides or your stomach, as this can shift the placement of your implants (not to mention feel uncomfortable!). That’s why we recommend investing in some comfortable pillows to elevate your back. Pillows will allow you to rest and recover from surgery without running the risk of turning on your side or onto your stomach.

4. Focus on that first week of recovery.

Planning for your entire breast augmentation recovery can be intimidating. That’s why we recommend limiting your preparation to the first week after surgery, as this is the most pivotal part of your post-surgical journey.

My experience with Dr. Greenberg and his staff was phenomenal. I wasn’t sure if I was going to look natural with my breast augmentation, but Dr. Greenberg made sure that I looked as natural as possible. I couldn’t be happier with my recovery and new look.
