Liposuction Overview

Are you looking for a procedure that will help to break up fat pockets around your body? Then liposuction could be the solution for you. If you’re already following a regular exercise regime and a healthy diet, it might be frustrating to still have stubborn pockets of fat. But with this cosmetic procedure, the fat will be removed via a cannula leaving you with smooth, contoured skin.

A procedure that is carried out here at Winter Park Plastic Surgery by our board-certified plastic surgeon Dr Scott Greenberg, it is a safe technique that is used to remove the collection of excess fat in localized areas around the body – in particular, in the buttocks, hips, stomach, and thighs. It can also be used on the chin area, arms, and back.

Performed at our accredited in-office surgical facility, anesthesia will be applied before a solution is carefully injected. Incisions will then be made, through which a cannula will be inserted.

Ultrasound energy will then be used to break up the pockets of fat before it is removed from your body. At Winter Park Plastic Surgery, we use a state-of-the-art VASER ultrasound system.

You’ll begin to see visible results immediately after the surgery and the final results will be seen approximately 2-3 months after the procedure. Although results can be long-lasting, changes in your weight and aging can still affect the appearance.

Following the procedure, Dr. Scott Greenberg will recommend that you wear compression garments for several weeks to apply pressure to the treatment area. After approximately 3 weeks you will be able to resume all of your normal activities. Dr. Scott Greenberg will talk you through the recovery process, along with any aftercare instructions you should follow.

Liposuction Cost

The cost of liposuction varies depending on the treatment area. However, on average, it typically costs between $2,000 and $3,800 across the US. If you are seeking liposuction in various areas from a high-quality medical practice, the price will reflect this.

The total cost of the surgery will not only include the cost of the procedure itself but other costs such as anesthesia, operating room facilities, and post-operative garments and supplies. The experience and expertise of the plastic surgeon will also be taken into account. To discover the true final cost of your liposuction surgery, contact Winter Park Plastic Surgery.

Am I a Candidate for Liposuction?

The best candidates for liposuction are those with realistic expectations for the procedure, in good general health, are a normal weight, have younger skin, and those with localized fat collections that cannot be shifted by exercise, diet, and weight loss.

After scheduling a consultation at Winter Park Plastic Surgery, Dr. Scott Greenberg will discuss your expectations and goals with you. Techniques for the surgery will also be discussed so that you have a treatment plan that is suitable for your unique requirements.
