Pregnancy and childbirth can change your body in ways you feel less than happy about. If you want to get back the body you had before pregnancy, talk to Dr. Scott Greenberg about a mommy makeover. This customized procedure can turn back the clock on stretch marks, sagging skin, drooping breasts, and separated abdominal muscles.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

During pregnancy, a woman’s body experiences major changes. The abdominal skin and muscle stretch to accommodate the baby. The breasts may get larger and fuller but then deflate and flatten. Weight gain can leave you with stubborn pockets of fat and loose skin. A mommy makeover can restore all these areas and more in a procedure tailored to your goals.

When is the Best Time for a Mommy Makeover?

You should wait at least six months to a year before your mommy makeover. This allows your body to heal and your weight to stabilize. You should have a mommy makeover when you are sure you have no plans for any more children since another pregnancy will undo many of your results.

You will also need to schedule your mommy makeover when you have someone to help you with everyday tasks. You will not be able to lift things for several weeks, so if you have young children, you will need assistance with them. Schedule your mommy makeover for a time when you have support available and time to recover.

How Does a Mommy Makeover Work?

Your mommy makeover is a procedure Dr. Greenberg designs with you to address all your areas of concern. A mommy makeover can include:

  • Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
  • Breast Lift
  • Breast Augmentation
  • Liposuction
  • Skin lifts
  • Buttock enhancement
  • Facial treatments

Most mommy makeovers include a tummy tuck. This allows Dr. Greenberg to repair the abdominal muscles that become separated during pregnancy. Correcting these muscles improves the tightness and tone of the abdomen. The procedure often includes a breast lift, with or without implants, to restore sagging breasts and remove loose skin.

What is Recovery Like From a Mommy Makeover?

You will have a limited range of motion and will not be allowed to lift things during the first week of your recovery. Most people can return to work after the first week if Dr. Greenberg approves it. Full recovery takes four to six weeks. Your healing process will be assessed during each follow-up visit to determine which activities are safe to resume.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

Ideal candidates for a mommy makeover are in good health and do not smoke. Women who want to undo the havoc that pregnancy has wreaked on their bodies can benefit from a mommy makeover. Women should be finished building their families and six months to a year from their last child’s birth.
