When it comes to popular cosmetic procedures, lip enhancement – any treatment designed to increase lip size and volume – is quickly becoming a top option. Thanks to our selfie-ready society and celebrity influencers like Kylie Jenner, more people than ever want plumper pouts. That’s why lip enhancement procedures are more in-demand than ever before…

But what exactly happens during a lip enhancement procedure?

1. Am I a Good Candidate for a Lip Enhancement Procedure?

Technically, any cosmetic treatment dedicated to increasing the size of a patient’s pout is a lip enhancement procedure. However, the most popular lip enhancement procedure is a non-surgical lip augmentation that uses dermal fillers.

You’re a good candidate for any form of lip enhancement if you’re unhappy with thinning lips or you’ve always felt you’ve had small lips. Additionally, you may see excellent results from a lip enhancement procedure if you are starting to notice lip wrinkles and smoker’s lines.

2. Performing the Procedure.

The lip enhancement procedure you select will largely determine what happens during treatment. If you opt for dermal filler injections, the treatment should only take about 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on the shape of your current lips and the desired shape, a few injections will be specially placed on the lip line. A physician’s assistant will assist in the procedure and ensure a relaxing experience.

3. Assessing Your Results.

Any good injector will ensure you’re 100% satisfied with your lip enhancement results. Unfortunately, dermal fillers do not last forever. If you are happy with your results and would like to keep them, expect to make follow-up appointments every few months to assess and re-plump those perfect pouty lips!

I had the best experience ever with Jessie Chan. I’ve always been a little insecure about my lips. They’re naturally full but one side is a little fuller than the other so my smile was slightly crooked. Jessie fixed that right away with a few injections. The pain was minimal and I’ve been so satisfied since. Highly recommend!
