Loss of facial volume happens naturally with age, and it can lead to lines, wrinkles, and hollowness in areas like the cheeks. Dermal fillers restore lost volume and plump wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. These injectable treatments come in many different formulas, so your expert injector can choose the perfect ones for you.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are biologically safe injectable treatments that restore or enhance facial volume. They are injected into the skin to lift and soften lines and wrinkles, plump the lips, or restore a youthful shape to the cheeks. Dr. Scott Greenberg and his team offer several FDA-approved dermal filler options.

How to Know Which Dermal Filler is Best for You

The right dermal filler for you depends on several factors. Some fillers work better for fine lines, while others are designed for deeper creases. Many people benefit from more than one type of filler in different areas of the face.

Juvederm®

This family of dermal fillers uses hyaluronic acid. This molecule, which is found in your skin, attracts and binds moisture. It can form cross-links that make it more durable or flexible, depending on the formula.

Restylane®

This family of fillers also uses hyaluronic acid. Like Juvederm®, these fillers can last between six and eighteen months or even longer. It includes fillers for the lips, cheeks, and fine to deep lines and wrinkles.

Radiesse®

This filler uses a material called calcium hydroxylapatite. Found naturally in your body, it excels in the mid-face area, shapes the cheeks, and treats nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Its gel microsphere formula can last a year or more.

Sculptra®

This unique filler uses poly-L-lactic acid, a compound that triggers collagen production. Unlike other fillers, Sculptra® results take time to appear as new collagen forms. However, it can last for up to two years. This filler has many uses due to its collagen-building ability.

Is There Any Downtime With Dermal Fillers?

Dermal filler injections take as little as fifteen minutes and require no downtime. You can return to work or your usual activities immediately. Specific instructions will depend on the type of filler you receive. You might notice minor swelling or bruising around the injection area, but this will fade within a few days. Good skincare and sun protection between treatments will help dermal fillers last longer.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Almost anyone can have dermal filler injections. Good candidates want to restore natural-looking volume quickly and without recovery time. You might not be a good candidate if you have an active skin condition or infection in the treatment areas. Due to the wide variety of fillers available, we can almost certainly find one that works for you.
