Facelifts are a cosmetic procedure to reduce signs of aging on the face. Concerns that can be addressed include wrinkles, fine lines, volume loss, and sagging skin. The cost of your facelift depends on a variety of factors.
What is a Facelift?
A facelift is an anti-aging procedure to reduce prominent folds or wrinkles in the skin and to tighten and lift underlying structures. As a relatively extensive procedure, the facelift is performed using general anesthesia for the comfort of the patient. During the procedure, Dr. Scott Greenberg makes inconspicuous incisions hidden in the hairline and behind the ears.
Through these incisions, the skin and underlying layers are repositioned to a higher, more youthful position. After removing the excess skin and tissue, Dr. Greenberg sutures the incisions closed. Since signs of aging typically appear in the lower region of the face first, some patients choose to combine their facelifts with a neck lift for the most dramatic results.
The average facelift costs between $7,400-$8,000. This price does not include all expenses related to the surgery. When factoring in your cost, we recommend considering the type of facelift, the experience of your provider, the consultation fee, the anesthesiologist fee, the location of practice, the facility fee and recovery expenses.

How Long is Recovery from a Facelift?
Most patients feel comfortable returning to work 1-2 weeks after a facelift. After the first few days, you should begin feeling like yourself again. We recommend avoiding exercise until after three weeks of recovery. Final results settle in after 3-6 months.
Facelifts reduce up to 10 years of aging, and patients may enjoy their results for up to 10 years. Facelifts cannot stop the aging process, but they provide you with a more youthful starting point as aging continues. As you grow older, you will still look approximately 10 years younger than you would have if you had never gotten a facelift.
Facelifts do not affect your skin’s quality but can only reduce signs of aging, such as wrinkles and sagging skin. Please schedule a consultation with Dr. Greenberg to learn more about the results you can expect from your facelift.
When Should I Get a Facelift?
Signs of aging, such as crow’s feet and loosening skin, typically start in the mid to late 20s. Some patients may choose to receive a mini facelift to address the early signs.
The best age is typically from the mid to late 40s, but many patients wait until their 50s-60s. Depending on your goals, you may receive a facelift whenever it fits best for you. We recommend avoiding receiving a facelift close to significant events or plans, as full recovery can take up to a month.
