What is a Brow Lift?
As facial skin loses collagen, the skin begins to sag and wrinkle. A brow lift works by tightening the skin to return the brows to a more youthful appearance. This procedure also smooths forehead wrinkles and lifts the sagging skin that can give you the appearance of always frowning. It also smooths lines and wrinkles across the forehead, between the eyebrows, and on the bridge of the nose.
How Does a Brow Lift Work?
Dr. Scott Greenberg performs brow lifts in his accredited in-office surgery facility. He will create a series of small incisions hidden in the hairline and upper eyelids. He will then lift and remove excess skin and adjust the position of the facial muscles, so your brows stay lifted and expressive. Because this technique uses smaller incisions and causes less tissue trauma, you will see less bruising and recover more quickly.
How Long is Recovery From a Brow Lift?
After surgery, you will spend an hour or two in the recovery area before going home. Your eye area will swell and look bruised, starting after surgery and lasting about two weeks. You can usually return to work after about ten days if you feel comfortable.
Follow all of Dr. Greenberg’s instructions for a successful recovery and better results. He will advise you on when you can return to more physical activities. Total healing can take several weeks, and your brow area needs protection from injury during this time.
Brow Lift Results
The results of your brow lift will be visible after surgery, but you will see your final results when the swelling resolves after a few months. You will see:
- Diminished frown lines
- No more hooding of the eyes due to sagging skin
- Smoother forehead wrinkles
- Decreased appearance of vertical lines between the eyebrows.
Your whole upper face looks brighter and more refreshed. Results will last for many years, although the brow area will start showing signs of aging eventually.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
If you have moderate to severe drooping in the brow area, you may be a good candidate for a brow lift. We recommend that candidates be in overall good health without any clotting or bleeding problems.
