Greenberg, M.D. Dr. Greenberg is available for consultations on basic skin care as well as cosmetic surgery procedures.
VISIA Complexion Analysis
Our skin care consultations include a complete skin analysis using the VISIA system. VISIA Complexion Analysis uses patented photographic technology, cross–polarized and UV lighting to record and measure surface and subsurface skin conditions. It can identify and quantitatively measure:
- spots (red or brown lesions),
- textural irregularities,
- UV spots (when melanin accumulates below the skin secondary to sun damage),
- brown spots (hyperpigmentation, freckles and melasma),
- red areas (rosacea, acne or spider veins) and
- bacterial excretions (that can lead to acne).
This unique and state-of-the-art quantitative analysis and visual assessment tool can also demonstrate actual skin age, perform aging simulation that will occur without treatment and give side by side before and after quantitative and photographic comparisons. This valuable tool aids in preparing a specific and unique skin care program to address your concerns and skin problems as well as help to follow your progress.
Skin Care System and Products
It is the dream of millions to have a beautiful complexion. Based on his knowledge and the results of treating patients for over 25 years, Dr. Greenberg is pleased to offer a Foundation skin care system combining products from ZO Skin Health System (formulated by Dr. ZeinObagi) and SkinCeuticals as well as specific special programs for the treatment of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, active acne and rosacea. These products are based on the latest advances in skin therapy technology and offer daily skincare solutions that create and maintain healthy skin. We are proud to use only the highest quality products in our skin care program and in our in-office treatments.
Our Foundation program is designed to condition, revitalize and rejuvenate the skin and is ideal for:
- blotchy discolorations on the face and other body areas,
- decreasing large pores and
- improving the texture of your skin.
Our Foundation program is also well suited as a maintenance method to continue your results and is ideal to help enhance the effects of other treatments including laser treatments, chemical peels, HydraFacial MD and facial cosmetic surgery. Other products may be recommended depending upon your individual skin conditions.
We have found that treatment of most common skin problems such as hyperpigmentation, sun damage, rosacea, active acne and acne scarring are best treated with a combination approach of topical products and additional treatments to achieve the best results. In addition to special topical products, rosacea can be addressed with BBL, hyperpigmentation with BBL, MicroLaser Peel and ProFractional Laser Peel, active acne with Blue Light Laser treatments and acne scarring with ProFractional Laser or deeper laser resurfacing techniques.
Our program and treatments are effective and offer reliable and predictable results with minimal discomfort and down time. Depending on your concerns and goals, a program will be specifically tailored to meet your individual skin care needs.

HydraFacial MD treatments are an integral component of our skin care rejuvenation and maintenance system. This revolutionary technology is great for all skin types and targets:
- oily/congested skin from acne,
- fine lines,
- textural irregularities and
- generalized photo/sun damage.

This multi-step procedure is a combination of an exfoliation treatment, light chemical peel, extraction process and moisturizing serum application that gives your skin a glow that you will notice immediately! Make your appointment now to give your skin a great new look with no downtime!
In our fast-paced, active society, and especially in our climate of prolonged sun-exposure, many patients are looking for a way to rejuvenate sun-damaged skin. A variety of skin care methods are available including skin care programs, chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing. Microdermabrasion is a skin care procedure used extensively in Europe and FDA approved for the treatment of conditions relating to sun-damaged and aging skin, such as uneven surface texture, fine lines, hyper-pigmentation (dark sun spots) and mild acne scarring. We are proud to offer our patients Parisian Peel, the gold standard in medical microdermabrasion.
The advantage of microdermabrasion over traditional "resurfacing" methods (chemical peels and laser resurfacing) is that there is:
- minimal discomfort,
- minimal "downtime" after the procedure, and
- it is suitable for most patients.
Though, it should not be thought of as a substitute for these deeper procedures. The microdermabrasion skin care procedure involves application and removal by suction of aluminum oxide crystals, which gently abrade the skin. This suction action also provides a "lymphatic drainage massage" the sum of which allows for exfoliating and stimulating blood flow to the skin. The process of removal of the superficial skin allows the skin to renew itself more readily thereby providing a healthier, rejuvenated appearance.
For the best results, microdermabrasion is offered as a series of treatments 1-2 weeks apart to significantly enhance the effectiveness of our skin care system and not as a stand-alone procedure.
Dermaplane resurfacing is a procedure that gently removes the top layer of skin cells, exposing deeper, smoother skin. This allows skin care products and other topical treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, BBL (BroadBand Light) and deeper laser treatments to penetrate better and work faster and more efficiently.
This process has a secondary benefit of removing facial hair and peach fuzz along the cheeks, chin and lip. You will notice an immediate improvement in the surface texture of your skin! Dermaplane resurfacing may be combined with other treatments and can be repeated weekly as necessary to give you the best result.
Professional exfoliation procedures are an integral part of any anti-aging or anti-acne skin care program. We offer a variety of exfoliation chemical peels to suit your particular skin type and concerns. A consultation with our licensed medical aesthetician will help you decide which of these skin rejuvenation treatments are best for you. We recommend a skin care program in combination with a chemical peel to achieve the best result of the chemical peel.
Automated MicroNeedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is an innovation in aesthetic medicine for treating the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of overall skin quality.
During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to stimulate production of collagen and elastin. New collagen improves the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the general quality of the skin. Automated microneedling also creates superficial micro channels, which can be used to help topical skin care products work quicker and more effectively to improve the appearance of the skin.
Dr. Greenberg and our licensed medical aesthetician will meet with you to determine which adjunctive skin care procedure may benefit you. A treatment plan including products and other procedures will be developed and specifically tailored to meet your individual skin care needs.
Frequently Asked MicroNeedling Questions
What conditions can be treated or improved with Medical Micro-Needling?
- Mild acne scarring; any new or old scars
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Loose, lax skin
- Skin textural irregularities and large pore size
- Stretch marks
- General skin textural irregularity
How does Medical MicroNeedling work?
The skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied to lessen discomfort. For better results and more comfort, we use a collagen-stimulating product like hyaluronic acid or Vitamin-C serum during the procedure.
The small, handheld, pen-like device has a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles. It pierces the skin in the areas to be treated. The pen slides along the skin, penetrating the upper layers of the skin to a depth of up to 2 mm to create numerous tiny tunnels. The procedure prompts the body to respond with the creation of new collagen and elastin fibers. In response to the stimulus, the skin plumps, thickens and is smoothed reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines and wrinkles.
After the treatment, a soothing Vitamin-C serum or hyaluronic acid emmolient is used to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
What will I look like after the treatment?
Most people experience mild redness and swelling similar to a mild sunburn for 24-48 hours. There may be minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. Make-up is usually able to be applied within 48 hours. Within a week or two, you will notice that your skin is smoother and more radiant looking but the final effects won’t be seen until a few months later.
What is the down time after Medical MicroNeedling treatment?
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pink that may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommenda topical hyaluronic acid preparation after the procedure and skin protection with a broad-spectrum UV sunblock. The use of only mineral makeup is recommended after procedure.
What are the benefits of Medical MicroNeedling?
- Dramatically increases the effectiveness and penetration of topical skin care products
- Stimulates circulation and collagen production
- Cost effective compared to other skin resurfacing procedures
- Can be performed on all skin types including ethnic skin
- It can be used on all areas of the scalp, face, body including fragile skin around eyes, mouth and neck
What effects does Medical MicroNeedling have on the skin?
- improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of fine lines
- stimulates new collagen production for overall skin rejuvenation
- improves superficial acne and other scars
- reduces pore size
- may improve the appearance of stretch marks
How many treatments do I need and how often can Medical Micro MicroNeedling procedures be repeated?
MicroNeedling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For overall rejuvenation, we recommend starting with 3 treatments with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction, an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments required will depend on how each individual responds to the treatments, the extent of the damage to your skin and your specific treatment goals. This will all be discussed at the initial consultation.
What areas of the body can be treated?
MicroNeedling can be used on all skin parts of the body (face, neck, décolleté, trunk arms, legs, etc). Most people will begin to see results after the very first treatment.
What should I avoid on my skin after treatment?
To ensure proper healing, we recommend not using any products containing alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), retinol or Retin-A for 2-3 days. Exposure to sun should also be avoided and a broad-spectrum UV sunblock should be used. You will be given specific instructions after the procedure.
Am I a candidate for Medical MicroNeedling?
Medical MicroNeedling can be safely performed on all skin types and all skin colors. As the epidermis and in particular pigment cells called melanocytes in the skin are left intact, there is minimal risk of pigment change or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Skin MicroNeedling can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures. These areas include the eyes, the neck and the back of the hands.
However, this procedure is NOT suitable for patients who:
- Have used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last 3-6 months
- Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions on the skin
- Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year
- Have any kind of current skin infection, condition or herpes simplex in the area(s) to be treated
- Are pregnant or breast feeding
- Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing
How much does the treatment cost?
This is assessed at the initial consultation. A treatment plan is created for each patient and the cost is discussed at this time. This is based on each patient’s unique requirements and the goals that are desired. Our office is happy to give you a general “range” of expected fees over the phone. Medical MicroNeedling may be combined with other treatments as a package to reduce the overall cost.
