If you are looking for more than microdermabrasion or a light chemical peel and you have little time for prolonged healing, then the MicroLaser Peel is designed for you. Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the stratum corneum (10 microns).
The Micro-Laser Peel is a partial-to-full epidermal peel (20 to 50 microns) and is typically performed with topical anesthesia. Because this procedure peels deeper into the skin, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and full skin resurfacing. Healing takes 1-2 days.
Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble a sunburn, with minor sloughing on the second day. Redness will begin to fade by the third day, and be easily covered by makeup on the fourth day. Most patients have a series of treatments repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
